I think it's very funny to see how kids associate things. Having a toddler in the house finds me giggling quite often at one thing or another.
This particular incident was just so funny and cute I had to share.
Let me preface by telling you that Cash has a little friend in our ward who happens to be African-American. He is a year older and they play in nursery at church.
Well the other day I was in my bathroom getting ready for the day and Cash and my two other boys were watching TV in my room. I could hear Cash kind of whining and crying about something. Then I could here Talon asking him, "what do you want? Ninja?", Cash: "no,... " then he would say something that nobody really was sure of what he meant or wanted. I finally walked into the room because Talon was getting frustrated that he couldn't understand what Cash was trying to say or what he wanted. So, I step in and ask him what he wanted. I couldn't figure it out either and I started going through all of the cartoons in my head that he liked trying to figure out if it sounded like any of them.
Finally, Cash grabbed the remote and started flipping through the channels. Then he pointed to the TV and said "Jonah!" I repeated, "Jonah?". He said, "YEAH, JONAH!". I then looked at the TV and saw that 'Little Bill' was on....which happens to be a cartoon about a little black boy and his family! I realized what he was trying to say and found his association with the cartoon and his little friend, named Jonah, quite funny. Then I explained to Talon what he was saying and why and he laughed so hard. It really was too cute!
