Ahh...it's here! You can feel it in the air and smell it in the fresh cut grass. It's football season!
At our house it is a very highly anticipated time of year. There is nothing like the energy and excitement of a football game...and guys in pads and tight pants! :) haha
Chet has coached Bingham Little League football for the past 12 years but with his increasingly busy work schedule, Talon's baseball games, losing Cody to Copper Hills and Bobby Deerdorf quiting he thought it would be a good time to take a year off. He had a really hard time making that decision and I was really bummed about it myself. I was really hoping he would coach. He had a friend call him several months ago and asked him to help coach and just wouldn't let up. Call after call and email after email Chet told him no. Then a few weeks ago Chet told me he was going to go down and "look at them". I just laughed and said
"Ah, you're coaching!" haha..."No, no. I just want to see how they look!". I knew the minute he stepped onto the field that that's all it would take. Needless to say he's coaching...he can't help it, it's in his blood!
We love watching the High School team play and are still very strong supporters of our Alma Mater! Go Bingham!!!
Not only do we love our Bingham Blue but we also have our Cowboy's blue and BYU blue. So, I guess you could say we bleed blue through and through.
Tal and Hunter came in today with their pads and helmet on and asked me to help put Chet's old little league jersey on. Then they grabbed their football and went out to play. Chet saw them out there and decided to take this opportunity to teach them a few things.Hunter watched Talon hit the bag a few times and decided he wanted in on the fun.
They are such cute boys and I can't wait until they are old enough to start playing football!

Bleh!

That really is the only way I can describe how I'm feeling! As mentioned before I've been feeling pretty yucky with this pregnancy and my Dr. gave me a prescription for a medication that was supposed to help with that.
Well, it helped great with the nausea but other parts of my body were not reacting so well to it. I will spare you the details because I'm not sure how to describe the problem on here and put it lightly. Lets just say that I was concerned that with what was going on I could get a kidney infection or something that would not be very good for me or the pregnancy.
So, I went off the medication to see if maybe that was the cause and if that would help the situation and it most definitely did. There hasn't been a problem now...knock on wood...but I am back to staring at the bottom of the porcelain throne more often than I'd like! I am in my last week of my first trimester so I am hoping that the morning sickness will start to taper off. I know it's a good sign and for a good reason, but sometimes it's hard to convince myself of that when I feel so crummy!

Back To School.
Kylee started her first day of 7th grade today and let me tell you what an emotional night I had last night as well as this morning. I swear I am having Kindergarten flashbacks! Chet gave her a blessing last night and I cried through it. She thought I was goofy for crying because "it's only 7th grade, mom!" but what she doesn't realize is I know that it will soon become 10th grade, then college and marriage. 6 years is not a very long time and knowing that that's all she has before she moves out is killing me. I know...I shouldn't think about that time before it comes but I can't help it right now. I am trying hard to live in the "now" and enjoy each moment...and really, I am! But I'm also dreading what is to come. It's just hard b/c I know how hard these years of Jr. High are and the things that she is going to be facing. Chet's blessing was really nice and very comforting for me. I hope she listens to the counsel in the blessing. She is a good girl and I trust her completely I am just afraid for the things she will be exposed to and have to face. YIKES!
I saw this old church commercial on Jeanne's blog and it really depicts how I am feeling right now. I'm glad she found it and let me borrow it because I couldn't even remember what it was called. Thanks Jeanne!Makayla and Talon also started school last week. Makayla is in 4th grade...already and Talon is in 2nd. They both had a great week and loved their teachers. I'm so glad and look forward to a great new school year with these two!

bad, BAD Virus!
I just thought I would warn everybody that there is a bad virus going around in the family. Chet had it, Mom got it and now I am the latest victim. Just to clarify we are all doing fine but I cannot say the same for my computer...*sniff*.
Chet is doing all that he can to save it but it is looking like we may have to say our goodbye's. Thus said, I may not respond to emails or posts quickly because I am using his work laptop right now. Just a word of caution...the offending virus is actually spyware that is called ANTIVIRUS XP 2008. It is a false antivirus ad that pretty much takes over your system until it's basically inoperable. It will tell you that you have virus's and try to get you to buy their product to remove them. But the product doesn't exist so they get your money and you get a computer that doesn't work! I got this just by doing a google search on some health sites, so beware of what you surf. It's highly worth and strongly advised that you purchase a good antivirus and antispyware application. One that Chet was able to save mom's with is called "Spyhunter" and you can purchase it for about $30 online. However, it didn't save mine. Just a word of caution because it's out there and Chet knows of other's who have got it recently also! It is a really BAD one!!!
If your computer's health happens to be so unlucky, take two scan disks and call Chet in the morning!

And Growing...
For those of you who weren't at the Fullmer's on Sunday, Hunter's shirt says it all!
I know most of you have been speculating for the last few weeks and have probably been guessing this was the case. Especially those knowing we wanted to start again as soon as our waiting period was over because of the recent miscarriage. So YES we are excited to announce that we are adding to our brew.
We wanted to wait until my Dr. appt which was last Monday to make sure everything was okay before we broke the news. Especially to our kids since they were so sad that we lost the last one. I have been really nervous myself and haven't let myself even think too far ahead into the pregnancy. Like shopping for maternity clothes and baby strollers or looking on pregnancy sites. My Dr. did an ultrasound right off the bat and didn't even bother with the pelvic exam...NO COMPLAINTS!!! I have never seen anything so fantastic as that little blurry thing on the screen with a heartbeat! I felt like I could breathe for the first time in many weeks! I have been really sick and I am getting quite the baby bump so it was starting to get difficult to hide from everybody. My Dr. did prescribe me a medication to help with the nausea, which has been great, but it is made with a sleep aid so I have been SOOO tired this last week. But I will take tired over having my head in the toilet all day :) We told the kids that night during family night. Our lesson was on "eternal families" and I made a family tree starting out with just the trunk with Chet and my name on it. Then we had branches with each of the kids' names on them and they got to put their own branch onto the trunk. Then we added an extra branch that said "Baby" on it onto our tree. They were so excited!
I am 12 weeks along and due Feb. 28, 2009. Hunter and Talon made it clear that they want a baby sister and I think Kylee and Makayla are hoping for a girl too. As for Chet and I, we really don't care. We have decided though that we are going to be old fashioned and wait til the very end to find out what sex the baby is! So sorry, but you're going to have to wait until the very end with us to find out what we're having:)
I find these pictures and information very interesting and I thought I'd share my progress monthly with you. Here is what is happening with our baby so far!

My Baby
You're almost at the end of your first trimester! Your baby's now approaching 3 inches long and weighs about half an ounce. But that teeny body sure has a lot of remarkable detail! This week, your little guy's face continues to take shape, with his nose and chin becoming more refined. And he's now got -- count 'em -- 10 fingernails and toenails decorating his mini digits. As your baby's muscles start to bulk up, he's getting busy stretching and kicking, although he's still too teeny for you to take notice. But if you touch your tummy, and could see his response, he'd probably be wriggling!

Finally!
After these last couple of months I've decided that my knew favorite person is GLEN!! He spent many nights and many hours helping us turn our old computer room downstairs into a bedroom for Kylee. He built a nice 8ft closet and built the closet organizer in it as well as the shelves on the other side. He also built us some really nice shelves in our garage to hold all of our big totes and other junk we've got downstairs! He is the MAN! Thanks Glen for all of your hard work and help...we love you!
Here are some before pics of the room. I took all of Chet's Dallas Cowboys decor and other football stuff down before taking these pics but this gives you an idea. The first couple are taken from the doorway. Here is the finished...well mostly finished...product! Kylee is at camp and I wanted to get it all done and put together before she got home today to surprise her. It's been a busy week trying to get it all done while she was gone. We had to take their bunks apart so I could paint it and Chet had to put the insulation in the ceiling. I still need to do a few little things like get some decor for the walls, a door knob put on the door, and her valance put up (just need to find a rod long enough) but at least she can move in and sleep down there! It's hard trying to fit as much of the room as I can in a camera shot but you get an idea right? Right now she is using her current bed comforter but maybe down the road we can get her a different one So happy to have this FINALLY done!!!

Here We Go!
We officially have a teenager in the house! Kylee turned
13 today and had such a fun day. She got the royal
treatment to say the least. I surprised her and took
her to "Sweet n Sassy" a salon/spa for young girls.
She got a shampoo, haircut (A-line), style, manicure,
pedicure, facial and make-up. Then we went to Red
Lobster for lunch and came home and opened presents.
Her main present was a digital camera, and
then she got speakers for her mp3, some clothes
and a pillowcase with Tom Welling's pic on it
(Clark Kent from Smallville) from us.
Family came over later and she got lots more clothes
and fun things so she is set for school!
She is so cute and was not wanting to turn 13
b/c she wants to stay a kid forever...which is fine
with us! Unfortunately it doesn't work like that.
I would keep her little if I could, I am feeling so old
at the thought of having a TEENAGER! However, I DO
have to say that her stylist thought I was her sister! Lol...
She ended up getting a good tip :)
Unfortunately Chet couldn't be here. He is still in St. George
with Talon and missed out on the fun today. I know he
was pretty bummed out about it. Talon fought two fights
back to back last night down there and did such a great
job. Chet said he is just so proud of him and how well
he fought and stuck it out when he took some punches
in the nose. He came back and fought even harder.
Anyway, wish us luck as we begin the roller
coaster ride with having a teenage girl in the house! :)

Move over Rocky!
The Salt Lake County Fair fights were tonight and to keep with tradition Talon and his cousin, Braeden, fought the money fight. Instead of trophies the audience throws in money at the end of the fight and the fighters split it up. They both did a great job and have so much fun fighting each other. Some may think it's horrible to put cousins up against each other but to be honest Shanna and I feel much more comfortable knowing that they are fighting each other instead of some kid we don't know who may be a lot more experienced (and tougher) than them :) At least this way we know that they are both pretty equally matched. They ended up getting about $45 each tonight which isn't bad considering they only spent 3 min. in the ring! Of course I can say "only" 3 min. because I'm not the one getting punched for that duration of time...haha!
Right after these fights were done Chet and Talon took off for the fights down in St. George! I am just so proud to be a part of such wonderful boxing legends and grateful that my kids have that opportunity to grow up with a sport and traditions of a very strong and respected family!

*sigh* What now?
My cute littlest guy started preschool this morning. He has been so excited and I have been dreading it. Now two days a week I will be all alone for half a day for the first time since I've become a mom. I'm really not quite sure what do with myself. I know a lot of mom's can't wait for that day to come but to be honest, I'm not quite sure I'm ready for that yet. In fact I have been very emotional this week for many reasons. With my oldest turning 13 on Saturday and my baby starting preschool, it's really hitting me how fast they are growing and there's nothing I can do to stop it!
It's really made me stop and think about where I'm at in my life and if I've been a good mom to them. If they've been having a fun childhood and if I've been teaching them everything that I should be. I know I need to be better at so many things and feel so inadequate at times, often like they deserve so much better. I just want them to be happy and look back on their childhood with fond memories. But mostly, I wish I could keep them little forever!

I Like to Look for Rainbows...
The girl's and I had the wonderful opportunity to head out to California for my niece, Gianna's, baptism. We left Thursday and got to be there for her b-day on Friday and her baptism on Saturday. We had lots of fun celebrating her b-day with her. We went swimming at the pool and went to her birthday party at a really fun place. Then we all went to dinner and had dessert.
Saturday's program was so nice. Gianna looked beautiful and everything went so well. The spirit was strong and Tracy did such a great job with the baptism and confirmation. Gianna asked me to give a talk and Makayla and Jordan sang "A Child's Prayer" as Kylee played for them on the piano. They did such a great job and I am so proud of them. Especially Kylee for learning to play it on such short notice. I am so glad that we were able to be there and share this special day with her. They are coming to SLC on Thurs or Fri so Tracy offered to let the girl's stay longer and he would bring them home with them. Naturally the girls decided that was a GREAT idea and decided to stay back in California for a few days longer. They didn't exactly pack for a week's stay there but I guess that's why there's a thing called "washing machine"!
Congratulations to Gianna! We are so proud of you and so happy we could be there for your special day! :)
