For the BHS Cheerleaders! They are the 2013 4A/5A Co-ed Cheer State Champions and Overall high point winners!!!
I could not be more proud of this team than I was after their performance last Saturday (Jan 12). The team was put through the wringer in a matter of 2 days. First, one of their strongest girls tore her Achilles on Thursday night. So, Friday morning they had 3 hours to make some serious changes in the routine. They performed it at halftime at the boy's basketball game that night and it fell apart at the end. Second, on Saturday morning, day of competition, about an hour before they were supposed to meet at the school we find out that another girl just flat out quit the team. So, more changes were necessary just hours before the competition! YIKES!!!
Needless to say, I was sick to my stomach with nerves. However, the team came out and performed an amazing and nearly flawless routine and walked away with the State Championship as well as the 4A/5A Overall High Point trophy!!! It just goes to show what an amazingly strong team they are!
Here is the video of their performance. Kylee is on the top left with the long, dark pony tail and her back facing the camera. I still kind of tear up at the end every time I watch this. Just knowing what they had been through in a matter of 2 days and still accomplished... I am just SO extremely proud of them! Good luck to the team as they head to Nationals in Anaheim, CA this March!

Lets Give a Cheer
I am also so proud of this cute girl and feel so blessed that she is part of such an amazing High School cheerleading team and program! She did great!!!
Although, her wonderful coach is the one that helps make it all happen! She is amazing and absolutely knows what she is doing! We are so blessed to have her coach this team. She is such a talented and wonderful person on the inside and out, and has made such an impact on Kylee's life. She loves these girls/boys and they love her. Then again, how could you not? Thank you Amber for everything!!! <3>3>
Below is some footage of when they were announced the Overall winner out of the 4A and 5A schools. So much fun!

Welcome 2013
When I was a little girl, I remember watching movies that were supposed to be way into the future. Like, Back to the Future 2 and others where the year was 2010 or such and there were flying cars, keypad locks, flat screen TV's that would talk to you when you walked in and the fashion was tight spandex, space age clothing with a zipper, belt and boots (or the likes).
Well, here we are well into the future and in the year 2013! Aside from the flying cars and maybe the fashion, the technology was not far off from those movies. It's amazing how much things have changed and developed over the years. As a kid and teenager even, I never would have dreamed it possible to have my own gadget that was a phone, music player, video game player and TV/movie player all in one! (let alone just a portable phone PERIOD!) and then throw in a portable computer or tablet into the mix....WHAT? A portable computer? A tablet? What is THAT? That is what my generation would have been thinking when we were kids.
How funny, that the things were were able to live without and get by just fine are now things that we feel lost and naked without! Our kids feel slighted if they are the only ones without a cell phone or iPod. I do love to see pictures circulating on FB and other networks of 8 track tapes or cassette tapes, rotary telephones, boom boxes, typewriters and the old Atari video game console. It brings back such wonderful memories of a life that seemed simpler then. Less to worry about... less ways for kids to get into trouble... Less ways to spread gossip and ruin somebody's reputation among masses of people. Technology has it's pros, but with that, it certainly has it's cons as well.
I won't lie. This last year has been extremely hard. One of the hardest years I think I have ever experienced in my life. I learned a lot from the trials of this last year but pray like crazy I don't have to experience those things again! I am not hearbroken at all to see 2012 leave and I am welcoming 2013 with open arms!!! I look forward to a new beginning and hope for a much better year. I am trying to be more positive and patient. Just wanting to be a better mom, wife and person in general. We can't all be Supermom and I am trying to be satisfied with who I am and what I can do. I am only trying my best...could I try a little harder? ALWAYS! We all can always improve and should strive for that daily. That is my goal... to keep trying, to be positive and more patient.
Happy 2013 to all of you and may you have a wonderful and prosperous year!

Christmas 2012
Christmas came and went with lots of fun. Santa stopped by our home and almost fell off the roof, in fact! Kinda scary, but we are glad he survived without any injuries or death.
The kids got some fun things as you will see below.
This would be Talon's.
Cashy's...
Kylee's...
Makayla's
Hunter's...
Herbie left us a little something fun before he flew back to the North Pole on Christmas Eve. I will have to admit that I kind of miss that funny little Elf. He was so much fun and I am so glad that we adopted him this year! We will look forward to when he comes again next Christmas.
Chet and I had a gift for the kids that they unwrapped last.
They are pretty excited for March!
Mickey Mouse here we come!
Makayla had a special surprise in the bottom of her Christmas sock that she was not expecting. I have been trying to post the video but for some reason it will not load. She didn't know what it was at first but when she finally realized it was a phone she could not stop screaming and jumping around. It made me tear up. I love when you know your kids are going to be so excited about something they get... I felt like the kid on Christmas Eve, so excited and waiting to see her reaction on Christmas morning. She said she now feels like an "official teenager" now that she has a phone!
Chet and I got each other the new iPhone 5. I have never had an iPhone so I don't have anything to compare it to as as far as if it's better than the previous ones... but I will say that it is far better than any phone I have EVER had! It's nice to finally have a "cool" phone! I feel up with the times.
So, with all of the above, including a white Christmas and time spent with family (especially my brother and his family) it was a pretty perfect Christmas! We hope yours was just as wonderful!
