Welcome Home Elder Crowther!

What an exciting day! We have been so excited to see Cole again and have him home. Makayla kept saying all day how her stomach tickled because she was so excited.
It was so fun to see him again and give him a big hug. We missed him like crazy! Even Hunter gave him a hug which, for him, is a BIG feat. (everyone knows how shy he is)

WELCOME HOME ELDER CROWTHER WE LOVE YOU AND ARE SO PROUD OF YOU! WELL DONE!!!!

Diamse Family Reunion

We had our first Diamse family reunion, since I can remember, today at my Uncle's house. It was lots of fun to see and meet family. Cousin's came in from South Carolina, Arizona and California. We had lots of yummy food and got to play in the really nice pool...until the heaven's opened up and poured rain on us that is! The kids still enjoyed playing in the rain and getting wet. There was also some Rock Band going on and the Journey concert with the new Filipino singer. (Filipino's are very supportive of their race..haha) We left before they broke out the karaoke but I'm sure that was next! We had a great time and I just love my family!!!

Memory Lane

Okay, I have seen this on a lot of blogs and I have had so much fun reading other's that I decided to join in on the fun!

I hope you will play along. Here are the directions:

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together (It can be a memory with either Chet or Kim or both). It doesn't matter if you knew me/us a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. Have fun!!!

Can't wait to read YOUR memories since mine seems to be fading with each year!!! haha

Road Trip

Thanks to a great suggestion from Cami, my three kids and I headed out on a road trip Northwest of here to a little place called Pocatello, Id. We left Thursday morning and got there just in time for lunch. The kids were excited to go and when Talon found out where we were going he said, "COOL! Now I will have gone to THREE states!" haha. As we were sitting in the Arby's drive through once we got there he was looking around and said, "Yep, it sure looks like Idaho!", I said "oh really? Does it look different from Utah?" he looks around some more and said, "Yup it's different." haha.

We went to the Pocatello Zoo, which is more like a farm only with a bear and a cougar, but it was still lots of fun. They played on the playground there for a little bit then we went back to Cami's for dinner and a sleep over.
James was so cute and kept the kids very entertained...and WET! haha. They had fun having a water fight with squirt guns and water bottles INSIDE the house. Cami's carpet and walls were pretty wet but they had fun. Thanks for being such a good sport Cami and thanks for having us over! We had SOO much fun and it was so good to hang out with you again! Hunter did not want to leave and is still telling me he likes having a sleepover at Carson's house! :)

Now Do You Feel Like A Pioneer?

Yip, yip! We got our trekkers off this morning about 8:00 am. They all met at the chapel in their pioneer gear and headed out. Kylee was so excited to go and I hope that she has a great experience. All of the Ma's and Pa's that were called are great couples and will do a fabulous job I'm sure. Kylee had a hard time deciding who to dedicate her trek to so she's trekking for two people. She is trekking for one of her Pioneer ancestors who was actually in the Martin-Willie handcart company, Jane Eleanor Fullmer, and for my mom who's family was one of the first to be baptized into the church in the Philippines. (the fact that she's doing the latter makes me emotional) I am praying that she has some great spiritual experiences and will be able to feel the spirit of those she is trekking for...especially her grandma!

Geri Goffin showed up in a hat that was GREAT! She's going to have fun with whatever she does...even if it's trekking! haha

The 7th Ward 2008 Trekkers!

The morning was just the beginning of a fun, busy day. We met up with the Martin clan...minus our trekkers... and headed to the Children's Museum downtown. The kids were so excited to get to ride the "choo, choo" train on the way! (can you tell?)

They got to sculpt clay and take it home and had fun with all of the activities. It was a messy activity but I think they had fun.

We bummed around Gateway for a little bit and let the kids splash in the water fountain. They had SO much fun with this one!!! (although in this pic it doesn't look like Davis is having much fun. He warmed up to it) Perfect for a hot day too.

Here they are trying to dry off in the sun. As tired as they were I'm surprised none of them fell asleep at this point! It was such a fun day and very nice to be able to hang out with no rush of getting back. Thanks Sonda for inviting us to the museum!

Hating Summer Boredom!

Yes, and not from my own kids either! It seems like when school is out and summer is in full swing is when mailboxes get smashed, fences find huge holes in them or car window's find themselves broken! Well, we now have experienced ALL of the above. We don't know when it happened or how but the rear driver's side window of our red car is COMPLETELY smashed out. No glass
remains
AT ALL! Now, we have four kids and have questioned them all and feel that they honestly knew nothing about it. It had to have happened VERY recently and had to have been hit very hard with a brick or rock. Both of which were sitting near the car. Can I just say I hate kids who think that destroying other people's property is entertaining and parents who let their kids roam during all hours of the day and night without having a CLUE what they're doing or where they are! Uh hem...not mentioning any names nor accusing but you all get the point. Maybe we should give Gunner more reign in the yard to roam!

Stylish Felines?

Makayla's male cat, Rosie, (we thought he was a "she" when we got him) has, naturally, shed his winter coat. He's not around much and has probably fathered most of the new kittens in the neighborhood so when he showed up after a long absence with a new "do" we all had to laugh.
Have you ever seen a cat with a "fauxhawk"? If not feel free to stop by! Our cat seriously has a fauxhawk, since he's not completely bald on each side for it to be a mohawk, so that's what we are calling it...haha!
It's hard to tell in the pics but his fur is short and even on each side and then he has this long fur going right down his back into his tail. It really is a site to behold! Good thing the "fauxhawk" is still in style, eh? He may have unknowingly started a new trend!

Coming along!

We are so close to having Kylee's room finished downstairs. We just had the carpet installed today and just have a few little things we need to do before we can move her downstairs. I'll post pictures when it's done but let me just say it's turning out nice. I am a bit peeved though. Let me vent for a sec! After the carpet guys left I went in to inspect the room and immediately noticed chunks taken out of the new baseboards. The corner of the closet was completely broken off and glued back on on one side, I had to glue the other side on! There was another big piece that had been broken off and also glued back on.(Totally looks like crap!) I understand that tools can slip but THAT many times? There isn't one wall that doesn't have a huge ding, broken piece or both! Chet doesn't feel like it's as big of a deal as I do but I just think that when you spend that kind of money on carpet AND installation that some care should be taken when putting it in! The carpet guys seriously were not even here for an hour! SO I'm thinking if they took a little more time instead of hurrying through the job they could have avoided many of the BIG dings and broken pieces in the floorboards! I know it's not a very big room and I know nothing about installing carpet so maybe it doesn't take long BUT still they could have been more careful! GRRRRR.... Just very ticked right now! So, now I've got to go back and try to fix them up the best I can. Did I say that I was ticked?!

The Truth About Baby Boys!

I saw this commercial and was just laughing so hard! It is the funniest and the truth, too. Those of you who have little boys know what I'm talking about right?

Happy Independence Day!

Happy 4th of July! We hope everybody had a fun and safe holiday. We kicked off the day bright and early setting up flags in the neighborhood. It was the Young Women's turn and Chet, being the good husband that he is, got up early and helped with both the set up and take down.
Then we headed off to Grandma's house for our bbq and had to take a picture of the kids in all of their patriotic outfits. I was a bit of a slacker this year...actually the 4th snuck up on me so fast that I didn't even think about getting the kids shirts until yesterday. We went shopping but being the day before the 4th there was nothing to be found. So, the kids had to make do with what was in their drawers this year...which is never a bad thing! They all looked so cute though!

Then we headed to my Aunt's house to see my mom's cousin who is in town. She and my mom were very close growing up and last time she was here I was very little. (Too little to remember really). She is the one on the right next to Kylee. It was fun seeing my family and of course the Filipino food was a plus too!
We went back to Fullmer's for the traditional firework show and it was quite the show! Chet was more entertaining to watch than the fireworks...haha. He put together a very nice patriotic CD to play with the fireworks and put on a very good show! Game on Tammy !!! haha We had lots of fun and hope you all did too.

SUMMER FUN!

The fun begins today! For our first day of summer vacation we met up with Shanna and the kids at Classic Skating and Waterpark. They have a summer deal where you pay $10 per person the first time and then each visit aftarwards, as well as food, is only $1. They don't have a huge variety of slides but it is still fun. They have a fun little pool for the tiny tots as well. I was hoping to get some sun and that I DID! Feeling a little burnt in spots...haha. I just had to laugh at Hunter though. The first time we went down a slide he was laughing and squealing away. Then the minute we got out of the pool afterwards he was just laughing and said, "That was WAY SUPER AWESOME!!!" haha, then he precedes to tell me, with arm movements quickly back and forth, "It was fast like this, vroom, vroom, vroom!". It was too cute.

I've got a couple of posts following so make sure you scroll down and view them all!

School's Out for Summer!

Whenever I think about school being out for summer I start singing that wonderful song by Alice Cooper, "School's out for Summer..." you all know the one right?! You're probably singing it in your head right now as you're reading this. (catchy song!) Anyway, today we finished school and some were more "finished" with Jordan Ridge Elementary than other's. Kylee had quite the emotional last day of 6th grade and JRE today. So did "mom" for that matter.

The 6th grader's have what is called the "clap out". All of the other grades line up on the sides of the halls and the 6th grader's walk through, as they play a song about being friends forever overhead, and they clap or high five them as they walk through. Then they walk out of the 6th grade doors forever! (Kylee's class stopped back into their room for a minute first). So, that made me quite emotional. It's weird to think that my little Kylee Fu is going into 7th grade. I'm kind of having a tough time with this one. I cried on her first day at Jordan Ridge and I cried on her last day at Jordan Ridge. haha. Seems like I just dropped her off for kindergarten only yesterday. Darn that stinking thing called "time"!

Kylee and Makayla got a few awards. Kylee and Makayla both got their Soaring Eagle awards. To earn this award each grade has specific things the student must do. There is a list of about 20 items and they have to complete 15 or more of the things listed. It gets harder in each grade and it takes quite a bit of time to complete it so you need to work on it from the start of the year. Kylee made the goal to earn it in every grade and she did! She is so proud of herself and we are proud of her too. She also earned the teamplayer award for coopereration and good citizenship both in and out of the classroom, a citizenship award and Safety Patrol award.

This pic is Kylee coming through the "clap out". As she was telling us about this Chet comes up with his funnies as usual. He said, "what do they call it, The get the crap out?" He said, "do they line up clapping because they want you to get the crap outta there?" haha...

Kylee and all of her friends crying and hugging. Us mom's were laughing because on one side of the room you had all of these girls crying and hugging and on the other side of the room you had all of the boy's high fiving and jumping off chairs! haha The boys finally felt bad for them and said, "let's go hug the girl's" So they all had a class group hug! I think they just wanted an excuse to get a little "closer" to the girls!

We are looking forward to a summer filled with lots of fun AND sun!!!

What a "Ball"!

We had the Ball Family reunion at the Anderson property up in Midway last weekend and had lots of fun. We played games on Friday night and then we slept out under the stars. The kids thought that was so much fun...even though it was cold! Then Saturday they played on the Slip n Slide and we ended up having a water fight with water balloons and anything that would get someone wet. Thanks to my wonderful nephew, BEAU, I got quite wet! It was a cold ride home I'll tell you that much! haha

Tony came up in one of his dealership cars. It was so sweet! He even let us take it for a spin!

Gotta love Felicia's face in this pic as Chet breaks a waterballoon on her back!

This is Slip n Slide Fullmer style...haha! Chet and Cody came up with this idea and thought it would be fun to try. As the kids ran and made a jump for it Chet and Cody picked them up and threw them to help them get some "speed".
