Last Saturday Kylee played in the Solo Festival for piano. There are four festival's a year, the Solo, Hymn, Duet and Concerto. Each piano student goes and plays in front of a judge and are critiqued according to how well they play and follow EVERYTHING in the sheet music. Most of the time they need to memorize the music and the judge has the actual sheet music in front of them and follow them and judge them from that. After receiving 15 points, which is 3 "Superior" grades or accumulated points from lesser grades, they earn their gold cup. It takes at least 3 years to accomplish this depending on how well you do and how many points you earn. Kylee had her third "Superior" in a row for her Solo festival and earned her gold cup! It is a lot of hard work and dedication and we are so proud of her. She played in a Gold Cup recital last night and was presented with her cup. Way to go, Kylee!

Yeah for Kylee! Piano is hard and playing for the judges is quite nerve-racking. Way to go - Spencer can't wait til he gets one.
