Summer Fun!

Lots of fun, new things are happening at our household this summer!

We got a new pool! The kids are so excited to be able to swim whenever they want now.

Kylee will be turning the big Sweet Sixteen in just over a week now...CRAZY! Where has time gone? I wanted to give her something fun for her birthday, but what? She already got the one thing (or one of the things) she wanted most, her cell phone. SO, I happened to be looking online one day at summer concerts and an idea struck me.

I surprised Kylee and told her that I was taking her to the Gateway to have some girl time. Probably go to dinner and see a movie. We headed downtown and I parked the car. When we started walking out of the parking lot I told her this was a good part of her birthday present. She said, "for a movie?", I said "No, for Katy Perry!" She was so excited and just about broke my neck from hugging me so hard! :)
Kylee had her first concert experience and she and I enjoyed a fantastic show!!! She said that was the best birthday present ever...which made me VERY happy!

I feel like I have a different daughter. Kylee has been dying for long hair since she was really young. The poor girl has been given my thin, fine hair. She cannot grow it out no matter how hard she tries...it just doesn't grow. SO, she has been saving her money. First, you have to understand that this girl DOES NOT save money...she spends it the second it hits her hands. I am so proud of her because she not only saved for our cruise and bought what she wanted there, but she was able to keep saving and earned enough to get some hair extensions!

She looks gorgeous with them! It's a different look, but she is on cloud nine!!! Finally, she has her long hair.

We have been having lots of fun this summer...swimming & spending time with family.

I can't believe it's almost time to go back to school. Some of you mothers may cringe when I say this, but I really do dread sending my kids back to school. I LOVE having them home with me to play and relax! Here's to hoping the next couple weeks DRAAAAAAG by slowly!

Hey you updated- I am glad I checked! Kylee does look a lot different, but still pretty for sure :)
I agree, I want the next few weeks to drag by slowly as well! I just wrote a similar paragraph on my blog! :) Summer with the kids is wonderful.... although fighting girls every few hours will is less during the school year....
