"Motion"

Yup, that's right...another week, another word. Week 3's word for the PWG was "motion." It was a perfect week for the word because the Salt Lake County Fair was this week. What better place is there to capture moving objects than at a fair? All those fun whirly, twirly rides...that made my whole household sick, by the way!....I am reminded that heat and said whirly, twirly rides just don't mix!

And speaking of the Fair, I decided to enter in a few photos just for fun to see how they would do. It was quite the ordeal getting them ready and entered. But, after one ruined photo, reprinted, redone and another photo that bubbled and had to be reprinted and remounted I got them entered. You are only allowed 3 and with the help of some great friends I picked the three photos to enter into the Amateur division.. To my surprise they did quite well. Two of the three got First Place blue ribbons and another got an "Honorable Mention." It made my day seeing those ribbons, because lets be honest, when I saw some of the other photos that people were entering I was feeling quite inadequate and like such a rookie. It was a fun experience and well worth the trouble I had getting them entered. At least maybe next time I'll know what to expect and what to do differently!

Here are a couple of the photos. My favorite one that won a blue ribbon was a black and white of my brother's family. I cannot post it here because of his career and his paranoia about his fam being pictured publicly on the internet but if you are a friend on Facebook you can see it there in my pics. ( I could put it there b/c my page/pics are private)

And this one I was really bummed about because sometime between the time I turned it in and then went back to view it, it had started to bubble throughout the photo. Darn it! But still...I am VERY happy about the others! :)
